The 3rd meeting of the BioAssembler Consortium took place on 25 and 26 October. This time, the team met in Vienna, Austria, in the magnificent main building of the University of Vienna.
For two days, members of VTT, Biomensio, Jobst, Abcalis, CES and UniVie, both in person and virtually, analysed the work done, discussed the next steps and found solutions together for some deviations from the initial plan. These deviations happen quite often during the development of innovative projects like BioAssembler, and these meetings also serve to strengthen the team’s ability to overcome them without losing sight of the ultimate goal – a novel bio-inspired assembly technology for multiplex biosensors.
This meeting was also special because it was attended by the two members of our External Advisory Board, Electra Gizeli and Klaus-Peter Stengele, who contributed to thinking about the project during its execution and beyond.
During these two days, there was also time for an inspiring ride on a historic tram, which took us on a journey through the history of Vienna, Europe and the world.
The next consortium meeting will be online, but we’re already scheduled to return to Vienna for the final project meeting – and it’s so exciting to think about that moment, when we’ll have the new technology ready to share publicly!
